The recipient of the 2018 Emma L. Cunningham Memorial Scholarship is Tasheka Green from Brooklyn Generation School.
Tasheka will be attending Tompkins Cortland Community College and majoring in Biology in the fall. Excerpt from Tasheka’s essay: "I believe in the blossoming power of education. As a budding African-American woman, I understand that I have the opportunity to be the first in my family to attend college and obtain a Bachelor's degree. This is significant because many of my forefathers and foremothers did not have this opportunity. For me, the promise of education is for the seeker of knowledge to capture their inner light...."
