The recipient of the 2024 Emma L. Cunningham Memorial Scholarship is Olivia Jacobs from Garner Magnet High School.
An excerpt from Olivia’s essay: "I noticed a good deal of people standing on the side of the street. From younger adults to older adults, they were out there with signs with the end sentence of stating, anything will help. That night, I went home and I did research on homelessness and realized how complex the issue was. After diving deeper I came up with my concept and launched my homelessness initiative."
